ReplyDeleteThat was a WONDERFUL event. Old friends re-connected, new friends and connections were made. And, independent publishers and sellers of printed materials got their stuff into the hands of those who appreciate having an alternative to Amazon and chain stores, which wouldn't sell those items anyway.

This "anarchist" scene is so cliche-ridden and absurd. The handmade sign on the fence looked like something you'd get at a Hot Topic store in the mall. The vendors were selling all kinds of "anarchist" crap like $30 tote bags, $50 t-shirts, and many of the books have ISBNs, meaning they are widely distributed books, most likely available on Amazon. And most of the vendors embraced the big tech capitalists such as Apple Pay, Paypal, Venmo, Google, etc.
