On Monday, we mentioned that the Whole Foods Market is shaping up at 409 E. 14th St. between Avenue A and First Avenue.
This afternoon, workers are hanging the signage. The Whole thing (sorry) is not up yet.
The smaller-format store will offer more grab-pay-and-go items and the usual WF merch.

why don't they just call it what it is, "Amazon Foods"?
ReplyDeleteWhole Paycheck?
DeleteFYiI - Whole Foods is the cheapest grocery store in the City by far (aside from Trader Joe’s which is gross). And the meat/produce quality beats anything in the area.
DeleteBecause it’s Whole Foods….
DeleteAnnony 10:52: agreed 100%. Wegmans is a close second. Trader Joes is awful.
DeleteWelcome Whole Foods !
ReplyDeleteI live on 7th and C. Nearby Associated, which lacks in both quality and selection, is far more expensive than Whole Foods. This will be an excellent addition to our hood. Can't wait.
ReplyDeletethank you positive peoples
ReplyDeleteI have been trying to move my shopping away from WF with mixes success. Wegman's has better meat and seafood and C Town, on Avenue C and 12th Street, has really upgraded in recent years and has a wide range of brands and price points. WF still best for fresh and frozen organic produce and for baking supplies so haven't been able to drop them entirely.
ReplyDeleteYou trader joes and whole foods now at Stuytown. Welcome to modern America!
ReplyDeleteShop Fair on Avenue C at 4th street has extremely reasonable prices, good selection of produce and free delivery - I shop in person and there is always a guy on hand that will push my overflowing cart to my apartment and carry all the bags upstairs!
ReplyDeleteI tip well but the door to door free delivery is SO worth it.
wow! this is news. um, "small format store" ? are we in Iowa now? this use to be a standard sized Associated super market.
ReplyDeleteI try to buy my exquisite organic labels at the local health food store instead of WFs or anything found in Trader Joe's. Support small businesses.
ReplyDeleteIn this economy, i support my wallet first. Also, a lot of these small businesses do not do a good job of quality control. Seen some stuff that has clearly expired sitting around. My health and wallet come first.
