Attempts to revitalize the space — including a spring planting rescue mission in March 2024 — have, unfortunately, not taken root.
If the city would simply start issuing fines to the owners of real estate for not properly maintaining their sidewalk space (not sure this one counts), the cleanliness of the city would turn on a dime. I wager there are 30-40% fewer superintendents cleaning (and hosing) sidewalks post-COVID.
