We'll always have the Gap on St. Mark's Place

This past week, EVG reader Jacob Ford noted that workers removed the anti-tagging defense system from outside the incoming Sephora on St. Mark's Place and Third Avenue.

Meanwhile, a few weeks back, reporter Tom Ryan (a longtime EV resident) wrote a piece for RetailWire titled, "Is Sephora a Threat to the East Village?"

Read the piece here. (Oh, and EVG is quoted.)

  1. That Gap was on the corner of Second Ave and had a low profile.Shazaam, an anti Gap, was on the 2nd floor. They seemed to happily coexist

  3. Oh wait - the Gap logo was fake. Whew. Sephora is bad enough alone. I walked by the other day and thought there was going to be a Sephora and Gap on that corner with that label. Totally went over my head.

  4. Look around at the people walking around in the EV. It's reality. And hopefully a few jobs.

  5. HA a Gap is the least of our problems in a time when there's more comments that support luxury high cost housing and riding the nabe of anyone deemed unworthy and the often incorrect information used to gate keep a past very few were part of the nabe has been in free fall into the arms of real estate and hospitality for ages now a Gap or a Sephora while not ideal isn't eventhe worst of it which is sadly coming soon to a storefront near you ....
