Post announces an August close

You're on the clock now for a last meal at Post. 

The cafe, which serves a variety of comfort food and cocktails, recently announced it will be shutting down at the end of August at 317 E. Third St., between Avenue B and Avenue C. 

No official reason was cited, but in a reply on Instagram, ownership noted: "...it's time. New York has been really good to us. But sometimes you have to get out while the gettin is good." 

The breakfast-and-dinner spot debuted here in July 2021 after a move from 42 Avenue B, where they opened in November 2016.

      After the owners of Post spent thousands on contractors turning what was an abandoned lot full of debris and needles into the outdoor patio space, the owner of 217 e 3rd street tried to nearly double the rent

    "Get out while the gettin is good" sounds like they're emigrating. I'm sorry to see them go and hope our loss becomes someone else's gain.

    Have enjoyed the Post many times. The space is very nice as others have stated. Happy trails I suppose.
