Rabbit Books and Bar, the incoming independent bookstore and cafΓ© at 170 Avenue A at 11th Street, has set its grand opening weekend for July 24-26.

Owners Marianna Vaidman Stone (above right) and her daughter Emily Samara Stone announced the dates on Instagram yesterday.

According to the owners, opening weekend visitors will have access to limited-edition merchandise and can become "Founding Readers," a membership that includes future perks and special offers.

We first spoke with Marianna and Emily in late May about their plans for the space, which will offer new and used books, coffee, beer, wine and community events.

  1. Best to the Stone ladies with their bookstore bar venture!
The business is so much more appropriate to the neighborhood than 7-11 could ever have been. They also hearken back to Bar on A which occupied that space previous to 7-11 and served as a fun event space of sorts.

  2. I’ve worked in the service industry my whole life and judging by what I’ve seen so far they’ve sunk a lot into this venture and I truly hope it works out for them!
Will definitely be checking this out once it opens!πŸ™πŸ“•πŸ“—πŸ“˜πŸΊπŸΊ
