Sunday's opening shot

East River Park via the Delancey Street pedestrian bridge yesterday, when we had near-perfect weather ... and today — more humid, with a mix of sun and clouds. High 83 or so.

A couple of showers are possible later in the day, according to the pain in my joints.

  1. I used to go to the East River Park to cool off in the shade provided by the great trees there but now all the tall trees were cut down and the samplings they planted will take decades to grow as tall. The only shade is the metal umbrellas with holes in them which do not work very well or go under the Williamsburg bridge which for some reason they did not put any seating. As a result, it is very sunny and hot in that park.
