I may just stare at it and never eat it. The frequent C rating was a little off putting. I was sad when Silan closed, and happy that it continued to be a good place to grab a cappuccino. Though I frequently tried to go later in the afternoon and their closing time of 4, while I guess reasonable given their fare, didn't help.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5694390946037511355.post-2459020346670423182019-02-14T19:21:21.481-05:002019-02-14T19:21:21.481-05:00I actually know Guy, the owner/manager behind this...I actually know Guy, the owner/manager behind this shop. He actually left at the beginning of last summer and had nothing to do with the closure or activity for several months. Since his departure, patronage drove down and they constantly received low grades. I ran into him recently in the hood and he already is with a new business venture. So, one wonders. What really happened here? I will miss the pastries and this spot for sure. The super nice fellow who ran the shop, Guy, also ran the Cafe that preceded it in this spot. I wonder if the repeated low health grades scared people away...DOH reported issues with vermin in almost every inspection they did, most recently in a 23 point ungraded inspection on 01/29/2019. It cannot be easy to run a restaurant or cafe in a building that is inadequately sealed against critters. Very best wishes to Guy, hope he lands on his feet.brucehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10793796253339212230noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5694390946037511355.post-23105694264170153692019-02-14T12:32:00.396-05:002019-02-14T12:32:00.396-05:00They had the best almond corisasants, this place w...They had the best almond corisasants, this place will be missed.Giovannihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11061991537085810824noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5694390946037511355.post-51131783834343178572019-02-14T11:37:16.032-05:002019-02-14T11:37:16.032-05:00Wow this absolutely sucks.
