Grub street

Photos by Steven

A delivery worker carrying for Grubhub tonight lost his load on Second Avenue at Ninth Street, which sucks for all involved.

Despite a few near-misses...
... the delivery worker was able to snag the bag... no idea about the state of the contents inside...

The sewer-repair work on 11th Street

We received several reader queries about the roadwork happening on 11th Street between Second Avenue and Third Avenue. Per one reader: "There is a very large hole in the street."

Yes!

Apparently, a sewer line broke along here — ugh ... Steven shared these photos from earlier today... showing that the block is closed off to traffic while repairs continue ...
This month, the hole will appear before CB3's SLA committee for a full liquor license.

Wednesday's parting shots

This evening, EVG contributor Derek Berg came across a woman with a trowel digging at the base of a tree along Seventh Street.

At first glance, Derek thought that she was planting something. Turns out she was laying a mouse to rest.
The mouse was not a pet but lived in her apartment. She and her friends didn't want to kill it. So they co-existed. Eventually, the mouse died, and she gave it a Seventh Street sendoff.
