I want to go to the beach

From New York's interview with Iggy Pop:

You moved to Miami ten years ago, but for many you will always be the epitome of a New Yorker.
I’d been in the city twenty years straight, so it was just time for me to go, and Miami seemed far enough. Besides, you can get an egg cream in Miami, and I’m still able to be disgusted by the Post at the local newsstand.

Iggy gives you three choices for his latest music video

Uncle Iggy's new record, "Préliminaire," is out on May 25...According to his YouTube page, Pop said: "One of the most moving songs of the record ... is called 'King Of The Dogs,' where Fox tells you how cool it is to be a dog, how much it beats human life.' This revolutionnary interactive video directed by Patrick Boivin lets you decide which dog you want to be between a business man, a bum and an explorer."

And here they are:

When Iggy retires?

There's a new exhibit at the PS 122 gallery titled "Yarn Theory," described as "an exhibition which highlights the vibrant and deep interrelationship between the sciences, mathematics, crocheting and knitting."

I stopped to check it out. This couple next to me were looking at the photos of the contributors to something called "The Knitted Mile." And the guy says, "Hey, Iggy!" They left, and I took a closer look... It's not Iggy Pop, but there is some resemblance... though this fellow is wearing a shirt, of course...

No fun? (Hardly): Iggy and the Stooges at Terminal 5

Iggy and the Stooges played last night at a sold-out Terminal 5, that place on the west side on 56th Street and, oh, Weehawken. I'm not much of a concert reviewer...so. About all I can muster at the moment is that it was a great show. And Iggy was probably having more fun than anyone else in the place. He never stood in one place more than four seconds. Per usual, he invited everyone on stage during "No Fun." Here's a snippet of the song that I filmed:

Zeronea shot this footage of "I Wanna be Your Dog," where we lose the former Christodora House resident in the crowd for a minute.

And here's a link to a Stooges clip from 1970...love the local broadcaster trying to make sense of it all...

(By the way, as you may have read, the band had their gear ripped off in Montreal on Monday. It hasn't been recovered.)

"Why are you bleeding?" -- Iggy Pop on the Tom Snyder Show

The former Christodora House resident talks with Tom in 1980.

Bonus! Iggy chats with Dinah Shore in 1977. (And who is that behind the keyboards with a cigarette?!)
