Exclusive: Smurf cast member shopping for East Village condo

After filming on the East Village last week, we hear that one of the Smurf cast members is absolutely GaGa over the prospects of living here... in fact, our spies have seen the cast member condo shopping .... over the weekend, he was wooed by the bikini-klad karaoke krowd at the A Building on 13th Street...

and he was equally bowled over by the private gated driveway at the 15-stories of condo at the Bowery and East Fourth Street...

"East Fifth Bliss" on Seventh Street

Earlier today, the "East Fifth Bliss" crew did a little filming on Avenue B (and in the Park?)... Melanie got her picture taken with "Bliss" lead Michael C. Hall.

With a rental truck and maybe a van or so... what a difference between this and the "Smurfs" logjam from Thursday...where tractor-trailers lined Avenue A for blocks... (And we had "Smurfs" reports from all over the City, like this one from Midtown Lunch.) And we're still getting reader mail about the "Smurfs" shoot, like the amused residents who were told to wait for several minutes... and when they were "released," the PA said robotically, "Sorry for the inconvenience. We will only be here for two more hours."

It was 11 p.m.

Will "The Smurf Movie" give The Bourgeois Pig any ideas?

Last night, "The Smurfs Movie" came to life on Seventh Street between Avenue A and First Avenue... and The Bourgeois Pig had a starring role... at least the fictitious sidewalk cafe that was put up by the crew for the scene... in which lead Neil Patrick Harris exited a cab and walked into 111 E. Seventh St. next door... However, given how the sidewalk cafe looks, will the Pig brass get any ideas about opening their own now...? Would this get ok'd by CB3?

The crew set up the tables very early ... around 6:30 a.m. yesterday...

A lot of fuss to watch Neil Patrick Harris exit a cab for 10 seconds

I was one of the many fools people who stood around for a bit to witness the filming of "The Smurfs Movie" on Seventh Street between Avenue A and First Avenue tonight... we were all basically there to watch Neil Patrick Harris exit a cab and enter 111 Seventh St. carrying a box. Then they did it again... and again...

And this is a huge production... with trucks and equipment on Avenue A from Sixth Street up to 11th Street...

Well, I can dream that they film a scene in the Mystery Lot...

On Seventh Street tomorrow: Smurfs, Ted Danson, craft services

Yesterday, smurfers placed more signs around the neighborhood about filming "The Smurf Movie" here in Mushroom Village...

P.S.

Thursday promises to be a busy day for filming on Seventh Street... up on the next block, "Bored to Death," starring Ted Danson and Jason Schwartzman, will be setting up shop...

Smurfs up: Mushrooms, blue creatures in store for Thursday?

Signs went up yesterday on parts of Seventh Street and Avenue A for...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Here's the story from the official news release:

Audiences everywhere are in for a Smurfy good time as the Smurfs make their first 3D trip to the big screen. When the evil wizard Gargamel chases the tiny blue Smurfs out of their village, they tumble from their magical world and into ours -- in fact, smack dab in the middle of Central Park. Just three apples high and stuck in the Big Apple, the Smurfs must find a way to get back to their village before Gargamel tracks them down. The film is set for release August 3, 2011.

Neil Patrick Harris, Jayma Mays, Sofia Vergara, and Hank Azaria star on camera opposite an all-star voice cast. Anton Yelchin will play Clumsy Smurf; comedy legend Jonathan Winters, who voiced roles in the “Smurfs” television series, will voice Papa Smurf; Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Katy Perry will play Smurfette; Alan Cumming will play Gutsy Smurf; “SNL’s” Fred Armisen will voice Brainy Smurf; and George Lopez will play Grouchy Smurf.

Hmm... the Smurfs must find a way back to their village before Gargamel tracks them down? I think this plot might be more interesting:

The Smurfs are mistakenly accused of killing a big time gang leader named Cyrus. Soon they have every gang in the city out to get revenge. The Smurfs must make their way from one end of New York to their turf on the other side of the city.

Seriously, though... is the East Village going to stand in for Smurf Village? Do they run into Fratty Smurf or Bachelorette Party Smurf?

Oh, and P.S.

What's red, white, and blue, and has stars?

Papa Smurf after falling down the stairs, drunk.
