Won't You Be My Neighbour?

The Dutch quartet Neighbours Burning Neighbours just released two new songs, which are well worth seeking out (if you like the screech of, say, Sonic Youth and early Siouxsie and the Banshees).

'Sweet' talk

Porridge Radio's new record, Every Bad, is out in March. The video here, released last week, is for "Sweet." The buzzy Brighton, U.K.-based quartet will be out at Elsewhere in Brooklyn on March 23.

Cable ready

Melbourne, Australia's Cable Ties have a new record coming out in March on Merge. The video here was released this week for "Sandcastles."

Into the 'Void'

There Is No Year, the new record from the Atlanta-based Algiers, is out on Jan. 17. The video here is for the track "Void."

'Lucky' strike

In "Lucky," Dehd delivered one of the catchier indie pop songs of 2019 ... the track is on the Chicago-based trio's excellent LP Water, which was out back in May.

Not for 'Nothing'

A reconfigured Rocketship returned with its first record in 13 years with Thanks to You, an under-the-radar release from this fall. The dream-pop track here is for "Nothing Deep Inside."

Just another day at the 'Office'

The Philadelphia-based trio Control Top's debut release showed up on a few year-end best-of lists — such as at Pitchfork. The video here is for the song "Office Rage."

'Radio' cure

The Shivas (via Portland, Ore.) released their latest album Dark Thoughts earlier this fall... the video here is for the single "Playing on the Radio."

'Hide' and Seek

Some new shoegaze courtesy of Deserta, the latest project from Matthew Doty. The debut release from Deserta is out in early 2020. The audio track here for "Hide" came out last week.

Surf and turf

Jayomi, described as "Seattle’s friendliest indie surf rock quartet," recently released their debut record. The video here is for the track "Tropical Wasteland."

Meet your 'Match'

The new EP via Squid — a UK-based five piece — is due next Friday (it has been out via digital platforms for the past two months). The audio track here is for "Match Bet."

'Sway' of life

The latest LP via Rotterdam's The Sweet Release of Death came out a few weeks back. The above audio clip for "Sway" provides a taste for what to expect.

The big heat

Tropical sounds for a fall day. This is an audio clip for the recently released "Hawaiian Noir" by Aporia, a Berlin-based band originally from New Zealand.

Back in 'Blackout'

The Damned released Final Damnation in 1989 ... an album that included "Wait for the Blackout." The video here is from a live show in 2017 in the UK.

And The Damned is the opening act tomorrow at the Garden (!!!) for the Misfits.

'Domino' effect

Corridor, the Montreal-based Francophone band, has a new record (their third overall) coming out on Sub Pop on Oct. 18. The track above is "Domino." The band is at Union Pool on Oct. 24.
