Shopping in the East Village -- then and now

Here are some archival photos I came across showing locals doing their shopping on Avenue C and Sixth Street in April 1950.

    Wow.....normal looking people of all ages wearing normal clothes who are shopping for normal things in real stores that sell normal things we actually need! And not one dimwit yunnie in a baby doll dress and flip-flops to be seen! Love those old photos - thanks for posting.

    people who use freshdirect should be made to publicly urinate on themselves and then smacked with ball hammers about the face and neck.
