So Second Avenue is off limits to traffic with the street fair... Meanwhile, on Third Avenue between 13th and 14th Streets...this humungo crane is lifting something up to the roof at 111 Third Ave. And slowing down traffic. And making everyone look cautiously toward the sky.
I've long held that this building, a blue and white brick monstrosity, has got to be one of the ugliest residential buildings in Manhattan. Yet I wonder if it was considered modern and posh when it was brand new.
ReplyDeleteThere were plenty of blue and white brick buildings built in and around Manhattan in the 1960's. Yes it was in vogue then like avocado kitchens. Now if you want to see modernist ugly, just look at 110 Third Avenue with its pastel colored panels. It looks like my Junior High School. AT7T is putting up a cellular tower on top of 111 Third. That is the reason for the crane.
