As you may recall, artist-in-residence Ryan Adams debuted his new work at the Morrison Hotel on the Bowery. Perhaps his message on the windows out front was lost on most everyone...
Sept. 24...
And yesterday, a new sign went up on the Morrison window...
"You gotta chase those crazy bald heads out of the yard".
ReplyDeleteWhat an asshole this kid is. I wouldn't be surprised if someone ends up putting a brick through that window.
ReplyDeleteAnd, of course, his 'art' really, really sucks. Ooh, this generation is so 'edgy', aren't they?
his music is fairly mediocre as well.
ReplyDeleteThe Bowery is for bums and artists, Mr. Adams. Where that leaves you is anybody's guess!
ReplyDeleteI liked a lot of his art. Not all, but quite a bit. And I love his music. I'm sure all of the people leaving negative comments are wunderkind who have produced masterpieces, but I'm just a fan, and his work in various fields, his humor and his energy entertain me greatly. At least he creates something, not just sad snide comments.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed his art as well. And, I've always really loved his music. Sometimes people criticize what they don't understand.
ReplyDeletethe sad part with trying to be ironic is: if you do it bad it shows.
ReplyDeleteit shows.
I don't like elitism. The Bowery is for EVERYONE.
ReplyDeleteI popped in and checked out Adams' collection recently. A few pieces are very good, and the rest is just ok.
"Sometimes people criticize what they don't understand."
ReplyDeleteOh, you mean how Ryan Adams and the newbies don't understand what the Bowery was like before, thus they criticize, and Ryan Adams criticize via this "art", the neighborhood?
I think he can take his show on the road ... to Columbus OH.
