Yesterday morning, Chris O'Leary noted that Singas Famous Pizza (below, in better days) on Second Avenue between 11th Street and 12th Street had paper covering its windows...
When I walked by last night, the joint was packed up and, apparently, gone...
Previously on EV Grieve:
The Pizza Shop has closed: "The rent was too high"
I can't say I am sad, in my opinion they had terrible pizza, it reminded me of my high school cafeteria.
ReplyDeleteNever had their pizza...
ReplyDeleteThey weren't serving an 'authenthic' Singas pizza. If you want a 'real' Singas pizza, the one by Elmhurst, LIC, or Flushing are good.
ReplyDeleteAlso, they may be opening a location in Alphabet City.
At the former Pizza Shop, perhaps??
ReplyDeletelet's just hope so, whether it'd be an authentic singas or other pizza shop -- as long it ain't another bar
ReplyDeleteBless you, Grieve, for using the term "pizza parlor." My grandmother used to get Italian pie from the pizza parlor and eat it with a knife and fork.
ReplyDeleteDamn. I liked to stop into Singas for one of their little pizzas before I went to the movie theater on 12th and 2nd.
ReplyDeleteI liked their pizza... Oh well
ReplyDeleteThe pizza sucked so they left. Blah blah blah
