At least the South Street Seaport waited until after Halloween to put up the Christmas tree



The tree went up over the weekend...And, on a personal note: I'm just not ready for this!

    I'm with you Grieve. I walked by the Cartier building last week and saw the red ribbon being installed, and i was disgusted! Lots of stores already have Christmas stuff up. Give me a break!

    Especially on days in which it's 66 and sunny...I'm just not ready for the cold weather, though I should be used to it after so many years....

    I think you guys/gals should go a little bit easier on these retailers -- they'll probably either survive into 2010 if they have a good holiday season or they'll go down in flames. The more days they can encourage us all to shop, the more likely they'll still be here next year.

    That tree however, is likely to dry into kindling and go up in flames itself before we ever reach Christmas. Truly a sacrificial lamb upon the alter of the recession.
