    I just watched Gangs of New York. It sucked, but there are some historical tidbits buried in the script, and if you listen really carefully, you can learn something about NY in the 19th century.

  3. Yeah, "Gangs of New York" was a horrible disappointment. Daniel Day Lewis was great, but how Scorsese saw fit to cast Cameron Diaz & Leo DiCaprio in those roles defies comprehension. Leo wasn't bad in "The Departed," I guess, but he's not the most convincing actor. At all.
