Snacklicious Cinderella story officially over
Being dismantled right now... At Second Avenue near St. Mark's Place...another low-budget food option gone...remember when falafels were marked down to a $1?

The $1.00 falafel was great!! The people there were nice too.
ReplyDeletethey also just don't make names like that anymore. it's snacklicious!
ReplyDeleteCinderella was one of my favorite spots for many years. I'm sad to see it go away.
ReplyDeleteWhat? This place was god awful and creepy. Sadly, though, this leaves the block vulnerable to an upscale gelato option.
ReplyDeleteGood point, Daniel — this location is ripe for dessert.
ReplyDeletethe people there were nice when I used to go there a few years ago. That's just too bad...wonder what's next...please...no froyo.
ReplyDeletePopped in there often enough. The $1 special, while nice, clearly didn't make for a sustainable business model.
ReplyDeleteAlso, with Mamoun's a block away, and just clearly more exceptional, there ought not to be room for mediocrity.
Apparently, markets are more efficient than we give them credit for.
No need to have a falafel place every half-block. Pick the best one and frequent it. Fast Food Darwinism! Same goes for pizza, and we've seen a bit of a shakeout in that market, as well, these past few months.
And LOVE the above comments!
ReplyDeleteAnother gelato place! Haha!
No, wait, noodles, or Korean wings, or Subway...
;-)
I loved the place. One time they tried to sell us a sandwich that was bitten into (they cut off the end). We obviously saw what they did so he offered us the sandwich for half off. Now that's a great business model.
