Has St Mark's gotten so gentrified that THIS is what the neighbors are worrying about? Seriously? Dude, go live in some housing development in Valley Stream or something.
aw, i never understood the pigeon-hating. they are just another creature that didn't choose to be born what it is. i think they are beautiful actually. have you looked at their iridescent feathers up close? they are amazing. don't hate on the pigeons.
Pigeons are gross and they have become way too comfortable around us. All these pigeons around us are an indictment, proof of how sloppy and filthy we are. It's gotten ridiculous, I've gotten used to seeing pigeons strolling around a *crowded* sidewalk, mingling, doing their trash-picking thing, practically rubbing elbows with the humanfolk, totally at ease and unafraid. It aint right. Who hasn't had a pigeon fly up and flutter its dirty wings and filth all in your face, way too close for comfort? Say it again, that is gross. Just because they are wildlife doesn't make them cuddly or bucolic. They are basically on the level of sewer rat, only sewer rats have the dignity to keep to themselves and mostly avoid contact with us. I love nature as much as the next guy but these ain't nature- they are as urban as you and me, about as natural as the hoodlums who prowl the subways up to no good.
Not only am I against feeding pigeons, I'm all for shooing them away whenever they are in our path. They will always subsist on our trash, fine, but don't let them get so cozy around us. Don't even get me started on the constant pigeon fuck-moans I hear coming from the shaft morning and night.
Once a pigeon pooped on my head as I was walking along the little triangular park at Cooper Union. Figuring the odds must be very high of that happening, I decided to buy a lottery ticket and won 230 some dollars. True story. So if you notice an elderly man dressed all in black wandering up and down under those trees, it's probably because I got an unexpectedly high phone-bill.

Wow. The pigeon haters are so full of hate. I don't get how you can hate pigeons. I don't hate any animals. I just hate people.
