World's largest Duane Reade now open on Union Square

Well, I'm not sure if it is the world's largest... but this store is huge. Anyway, the Duane Reade is now open next to the Nordstrom Rack in the old Virgin space...

...check out the big bank of fancy video monitors on the right too...

They opened yesterday...

...and are advertising "breakfast, lunch and dinner" in an attempt to nab the masses going to Whole Foods... Oh fresh baked goods!

I would have stayed longer, but in five minutes, three different super-duper-friendly Duane Reade employees asked me if I needed help finding anything...
Yes! The exit!

  1. duane reade is taking over the world. thing is, their store-brand line of household products and food snacks seem pretty good & straightforward.

    but still, too many!

    bye bye walgreens

  5. I thought Duane Reade went to jail or something, yet they still keep opening stores and changing logos and being expansive.

On the other hand, when you see someone carrying a Duane Reade shopping bag in Utah, it's still kind of exciting.

My neighbor once threw away her dead cat in a Duane Reade shopping bag (and that's why I'm posting this one anonymously).

Um, they need to transfer some of those employees to the location a few blocks down, heading west. The line in there is always OUT OF CONTROL!

Ha! True! And the DR on 2nd and B could use some of these employee communications skills as well!
