On Union Square, at the corner that once housed the Virgin Megastore...
...why else would Citibank feel the need for a countdown clock? Woo 57 days!
This will complete the transformation of Union Square South... the former Circuit City-Virgin Megastore space on 14th Street between Fourth Avenue and Broadway now features Best Buy, Duane Reade, Nordstrom Rack and the incoming, state-of-the-art Citibank.
hi grieve, I'm sure you've covered this but what was there pre-circuit city/virgin megastore? I don't recall... Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi Cat. Eesh... I worked on Union Square when all this went up... can't think of what was there at the moment....
ReplyDeleteit was an empty lot, pre-circuit city/virgin. i used to be able to see apple bank (now walgreens) from my building.
ReplyDeletedoesn't citibank still owe us (taxpayers) $ from the bail-out?
So if the Virgin Megastore is gone (which is hard to believe), what happened to that weird smoke-emitting sculpture from the side/top of it?
ReplyDeleteStill there, Lisa.... Maybe Citibank will plug it up with some money bags.

ReplyDeleteIt's about TIME someone reinvented banking!
