Healthy choice?

Last week, Urban Roots, the natural foods store on Avenue A between Third Street and Fourth Street, shuttered without much notice...

Over the weekend, a sign for a competing health food store — Healthfully Organic Market on East Fourth Street — suddenly appeared...

Unless the two stores are owned by the same people, this move seems rather tacky...

  1. Isn't Healthfully the name of the health food store on 4th Street, near Dolphins, between 2nd and 1st? I wonder if they're moving?

  2. How is it tacky? Did the new market raise the rent or force out the old business? They seem to be another local business, and what better place to set up shop than a place that used to sell a similar product? People are already going to come there without having to advertise because they're used to that space being a health food store already.
