Hawks and dogs

Thanks to Allen Semanco for these shots from the Tompkins Square Park dog run this morning... when a red-tailed hawk popped by for a visit...

... and a few curious looks....

  1. He was probably looking for a tiny dog for breakfast!

  3. without a doubt this bird is looking for a fresh dog dinner .The bird can easily take one of the smaller dogs though it might have to kill and eat the pooch on the ground . Probably not a problem since this particular bird has little fear of humans .
