April 27

EV Grieve reader Steven took this last evening around 6:30 on Avenue C at Ninth Street...

As he admits, "I didn't have a daily newspaper so I used one of the free ones from the box down the block. I took a close-up of the date too, for verification."

Resourceful in the opinion of this reporter.

Gruber MacDougal, spokesperson for the International Coalition of Tree Tossing in the Spring (ICTTS), is said to be monitoring the situation from the Centre for International Climate and Environmental Research, Oslo, where he is finalizing a white paper on the carbon content of international trade since 1990.

  1. Has this been in the Sunburnt Cow all this time? Amazing that it's still mostly green.

  3. Ha! Agreed, Blueglass. Plus, I have been suppressing some evidence from Goggla that will blow this whole thing out of the, uh, water.

  5. Well done! Awaiting the Goggla development with interest, but disappointed that G.M. is so capricious. Perhaps an ombudsman is needed?

  6. Gruber has always been friendly and professional with me. but, yeah, I see what you mean. Goggla's info is Assange-Times worthy. Possibly.

  7. I don't know what the judging criteria are (or the weighting given each), but my own would be (1) size, (2) greeness, (3) lateness in year, and (4) X factor. Based on these elements, I think this tree takes top honors (so far).

  8. Shouldn't the last day for this be the first day of summer? It is sponsored by the International Coalition of Tree Tossing in the Spring, after all. I can't wait to see what the Goggla evidence is!

  9. I may have to spend my summer vacation in the Witness Protection Program this year...

  10. @ Goggla

There are usually some good deals on last-minute tix to Witness Protection.

Meanwhile, I don't think your amazing reveal will last through the weekend. A couple reporters from the Times have been snooping around, asking questions.

  11. @Goggla: Warning: The spaghetti sauce in the Witness Protection Plan tastes like spaghetti sauce. #Goodfellas

  12. When will the news break??? This is very exciting!!

  13. No, no, no, Marty, you got the quote all wrong. It's, "I ordered some spaghetti with marinara sauce, and I got egg noodles and ketchup."

  14. @Roger Paw: Jesus Christ, I meant to put ketchup in there. I have been hexed by a little one-armed boy and things have been rough for me lately. No kidding! This is what it should've said: "@Goggla: Warning: The spaghetti sauce in the Witness Protection Plan tastes like ketchup. #Goodfellas"
