You chance to discuss bike lanes tonight

At St. Mark's Church in-the-Bowery ... I hope the Post wasn't invited to cover this!

  1. A perfect night out if you enjoy screamy Leslie Sicklick and her concerned screamy friends! Guaranteed more action than a gun control comments thread on the Ahwatukee Foothills News!

  2. Poor Leslie, she's really not a bad person, but this has sent her off the rails.

  3. She's a terrific person doing good for all concerned citizens. Just like her dad.
Ken, you sound like one of the newbies to New york who believes everything goes in NYC especially if its what YOU want. AM I wrong?

  4. I've lived in NYC since 1980, OWR. Maybe that's newbie by some standards but I've hardly lived anywhere else.

While I ride a bike, I don't ride on the streets, just the greenway bike path on the rivers. So I don't have a dog in this fight. I can understand why some people might have problems with the way bike paths are laid out on EV side streets, but I've found opposition to the paths on 1st and 2nd Aves to be very unreasonable and very overheated. Like I said, tonight should be very screamy.

  5. Oh and about how "She's a terrific person doing good for all concerned citizens," I hope you're not implying that I'm not a concerned citizen. I am a concerned citizen. Just not this.

  6. Ken, I was not implying that you an not a concerned citizen. I was applauding Leslie for being like her Dad. Involved and caring. What I do not like are the self-absorbed narcicists who moved here from St Elsewhere and believe they can "let anything go 'man', cause This is New York". This is how this shithole got to be that way in the first place.

  7. Suggesting that the bike lanes on First and Second Aves were created for "self-absorbed narcicists who moved here from St Elsewhere and believe they can "let anything go 'man', cause This is New York" is exactly the kind of nonsensical, screamy rhetoric that cause eyes to roll. Mine anyway.

  8. I like the bike lanes - the problems come in from pedestrians who don't look, bikers who are just douches (wrong way riders and people that fly through red lights; I don't care if people jay-bike when its safe to do so), and cars who make turns blindly across the lane.

The bike lane haters, eg Leslie, need to get over themselves and grow up.

  9. Ken you have an eye problem and possibly a comprehension problem too.

  10. @owr - You make absolutely no sense, but you do give me a good laugh. Perhaps YOU should take a reading comprehension test.
