Maybe this many people should be protesting the end of the middle class in NYC. I love old buildings, but I work two jobs to live in the city where I was born. So I couldn't make the event. I know a lot of you have "adopted" this city, but how much do you care about the human beings born from it? Or is it a transient dream for the clueless masses?
ReplyDeleteAs basic economics predicts and reality confirms, cities that allow development have cheaper housing. Stop opposing change - it's what makes a city a great place. Stop opposing affordability.

Hey stupid, If you had stopped by, you would have learned that the east side of the Bowery’s new development is slated to be strictly dorms and luxury hotels. By your logic, Grand Central should have been bulldozed just like Penn Station. Hey, let’s build luxury condos, luxury hotels and NYU/Columbia dorms
in Central Park. Think of the jobs that would be created! You are most definitely a real estate troll or a wanna be real estate troll. Go f**k yourself.
Anonymous 1:01, it may be a healthier option for you to direct your anger on more important matters in your life rather than on insulting and judging people who spent a few minutes of their personal time discussing landmark preservation.

ReplyDeleteIt is only your assumption that we are not. I know that I'm fighting for the middle class, and if you've got an event that I can attend, please let us know.
I think that landmark preservation is very important to sustaining the economic future of the historic Bowery, but it is far from the only thing that I stand up for, and I'm sure that I'm far from the only one here supports the middle class with deeds beyond words.
Unless you have some facts to back up such a comment, maybe you should consider what they say about people who make assumptions.

Enough with mourning a building. There's human tragedy happening all over the city. This is absolutely ridiculous. Get over it, people.
ReplyDeleteThey could have recycled the building parts moldings, trims, doors, stair rails, ballisters, floor boards, beams, fixtures, etc, rather than just toss it all in dumpsters for land fill, but then why should these foreign real estate parasites give a flying fuck any more than the other real estate parasites who are chewing up our city and shitting out its remains????
