OK! Roger_Paw made this discovery today on East First Street between First Avenue and Second Avenue...


And she is quite excited about this. "I rushed over to the nearby gas station and bought a paper to prove authentication. The thing still had lights and ornaments on it!"


Gruber MacDougal, spokesperson for the International Coalition of Tree Tossing in the Spring (ICTTS), was his usual reserved self.

"We applaud Roger_Paw for paying $1.25 for today's New York Post," said MacDougal, who's attending the beatification ceremony for Pope John Paul II in St. Peter’s Square. "In our estimation, the paper was only worth 87 cents."

    lol! I just can't believe I'm in the running! I had posted on onemorefoldedsunset's blog how I hadn't seen any trees in months (and have been jealous to see everyone's entries). Until now! Will Mr. Gruber please tell us what the prize is for winning this darn competition? He's obviously in radio contact so an answer would be most appreciated. I sure know Marty would finally like an answer!

    Holy smokes! Out of the blue comes Roger_Paw! Congratulations to you! Still having the ornaments should garner extra points with the ICTTS! I've given up on him disclosing the grand prize. I think he's pissed at me because I discovered some obscenities written on a sign about him at Mars Bar. Apparently, someone seems to be of the belief that Gruber MacDougal...EATS SHIT!

    The best yet. Big full tree with ornaments.

    (Although I'm thinking that maybe this means someone died in January and they just getting around to cleaning out her apartment.)

    I have an idea to deal with the complicated timing issue. ICTTS should just turn this thing into a Tree of the Month award. Sort of like Player of the Month in baseball or Employee of the Month at Walmart.
