  1. That's the equivalent of 8.333 beers for those with a calculator handy. Who wants to go pound 8 beers then have some sushi? What could possibly go wrong?!?

  2. LES Jewels will be right over.

  3. I can get 108 ounces (9 bottles) of Miller High Life, the Champagne of Beers at the International* for $ 18. On top of that, they offer generous buy-backs, and....I get to talk to Elaina and the (sub) genius regulars (myself included, after 108 ounces I usually start talking to myself) who frequent the place.
    * I don't work for them or get compensated in any way for positive reviews. (The I-Bar blog is a labor of love). Does the 100 oz. beer come in one mug? Now that's something I could whole heartedly endorse. Maybe Marty and I could meet up there and investigate for the good of mankind.

  4. @Uncle Waltie: We need to have a meeting of the minds at the International soon! Elaina and everyone there is great! Sadly, I have to work till 6:30 am today and I'm here right now. I think I'll have my morning after work beers at the Papaya Dog in Penn station. If you're up, meet me there and I'll buy! they have 32 ounce beers there for $4.50.

  5. MHL is piss water for frat boys who grew up on even worse piss water like Coor Lights.

    $19 for 8.3 Sapporos or BK Lagers is a genuine deal. Cafetasia has the best Pad Thai around.

  6. Lisa LMFAO at that one! Howled with laughter! Poor Jewels.

    Marty, Uncle Waltie - International *is* awesome. I gave one of the bartenders my old futon for their dog. :-)

  7. That place is struggling to keep the doors open, so these "specials" are getting more and more desperate. If only Shawn had sent along a pic of the empty tables too you'd see what I mean.

  8. They have had that special since they opened (or nearly) I believe. And Elaina is a doll!

    I think the poster before you was referring to "Cafetasia", not the I-Bar. Judging by the crowds they (I-Bar) draw, they seem to be doing rather well. So well indeed, that they opened up another place a block away.
    @Anonymous 5:00PM:
    Maybe MHL is piss water for Senior Citizens, but it's highly unlikely that you'd run into any frat boys at The International between 8AM and 6PM. What happens after that period is inconsequential.
