Were these motorcycles torched because of a parking-space dispute?

Yesterday morning, someone apparently torched the two motorcycles that are always parked along the 200 block of East Third Street...

EV Grieve reader Gregory Patrick notes that the owner of the bikes often shuffles the motorcycles around to ensure himself a permanently available parking spot in front of his house.

And according to Gregory, it "looks like someone did not approve of such greed in these times of increasingly difficult available parking."

This would not have happened on another block of East Third Street...

  1. About time. The guy who owns these bikes uses them to block out spaces for his truck. Major dick behavior.

  3. Naw, the dude may be a dick, but torching his bikes is douchebag, dangerous and stupid behavior - especially if the gas tank was ruptured/damaged, he could potentially be killed the next time he's riding. Don't see the point in applauding "street justice" that could possibly cause physical harm to somebody.

  4. This guy parks his bikes lengthwise, taking up multiple spots. He only moves them in order to park his big gas-guzzling SUV. Even without owning a car I find this incredibly obnoxious. Don't want your bikes trashed, then don't be an ass. He's basically telling the rest of the world to eff off. Well sometimes the world returns the sentiment.

  5. If you think this guy's a dick and don't like his parking habits, then have the guts to tell him to his face and tell him to knock it off. This is kind of a chicken-shit approach in my opinion.

  6. One chicken-shit approach deserves another. Bike owner is in the wrong, no two ways about it.

  7. Marty, agree with you but wouldn’t both of these bikes be classified as ”garbage wagons”. The panniers are the giveaway. As per the “Duke” and his book (p94) that we both love:

The Angels refer to standard 74s as “garbage wagons” and bylaw Number 11 of the charter is a put-down in the grand manner: “An Angel cannot wear the colors while riding on a garbage wagon with a non-Angel.”

Still doesn’t justify the burning. At least leave a note first. Then a one on one. If you going to go the vandal route, then spray paint the GWs gas tanks pink! With Smiley Faces!

  8. Yeah, agree with Crazy Eddie (as I usually do!). There are plenty of other ways to give this selfish fucktard his karmic comeupins without putting his safety in jeopardy.

  9. HAHAHAHAHA GOOD!
THAT GUY IS SUCH A FUCKING DICK.
They park their motorcycles to take up the space of 2-3 cars, it's fucking selfish and obxnoxious and pointless.

I've always wondered who did that and why.

So I'm glad there has been retribution.

  10. @Crazy Eddie: Agreed that those are indeed garbage wagons and I think your retribution idea of painting smiley faces on them is genius! A smiley face is often the best revenge. Only a coward burns and runs.

  12. I love it. Who's to say the person didn't try talking to the dick first? The guy obviously doesn't give a F*** what anyone thinks. You think saying "Hey man, you really shouldn't do that" is going to solve anything? Hell no. Why put oneself in danger to even do so? Who knows... someone that big of a clueless, obnoxious prick is exactly the kind of person who'd take a swing at you for saying something.

  13. I haven't looked lately - is this piece of shit guy still there taking up all the spots? Or did he learn his lesson?
