Places in the East Village that take Bastille Day seriously (guillotine alert!)

  1. jules is my happy place -- been in the neighborhood since the early 90's and when no one else would want to open up a business on that stretch of the street. the city actually 'paid' (subsidized) them to open a restaurant there. and the items on their menu still have pretty much the same price today as when they opened up.

    not that anyone axed...
