Dry land is not just our destination, it is our destiny!

Why yes, I'm quoting from "Waterworld." Illustration by Shawn Chittle. Taking a little Irene break. Back in a few hours. Photos, tips, warnings, rants to grieve98@gmail.com.

  1. I have a gripe. The residents who live at 505 East 12th Street apparently think they don't need to remove the planters and chairs on their fire escapes. There is crap on all three levels. God forbid any of it flies off during the storm and kills somebody.

  2. How many of you are stuffed from eating all your supplies before the hurricane even started?

  3. Moron workers didn't remove/tie down big huge planks on the sidewalk shed at 145 1st Avenue...not looking forward to watching them become airborne. I complained to 311 but they fobbed me off to the Buildings dept, which will respond in 40 days...great.

  5. I already drank all of my storm supplies.
And here, as a public service:
ZYWIEC - Porter (9.5% alcohol) is cheaper than a Heineken at $ 1.99 a bottle. You can get it at the Deli on 4th & 2nd.
Uncle Waltie takes good care of his storm ravaged neighbors.
