Workers remove Astor Place token booth

Or "customer assistance booth." Since tokens are long gone... They broke it down and took it away this morning, as these photos by Elizabeth Frayer show...

    I also just saw they took down the customer service booth at the L stop heading to Brooklyn. Is that a recent development?

    What, me worry? Nay, I am relying on the alert KMart security guard at the KMart/Astor Place station door to jump to my rescue should I need assistance!

    We've always been on our own down there. The sad part is even with all these cutbacks and pared-down service, there's still probably a fare increase around the corner.
