Fire tonight at Il Cantinori on East 10th Street

Our inbox is full of photos and tips about a fire tonight on East 10th Street ... Several people thought the fire was around Third Avenue or Fourth Avenue... Here's a photo of the smoke from EV Grieve reader @meganlquesada in Williamsburg...

Turns out the fire broke out at Il Cantinori at 32 E. 10th St. between Broadway and University...

  2. I was walking by and they had 10th and University all blocked off with emergency vehicles... I overheard from some firefighters that there was a grease fire explosion in the kitchen...

  3. I was walking around the area around 7ish. I didnt walk down 10th, but I was on Broadway and I could see tons of black smoke pouring from the top of the building's chimney (I didn't see any flames). The wind musta been blowing strongly east because the smoke and smell went all the way to around 1st Avenue. It was really hazy at street level looking down 2nd Ave.
