Get your bladder-busting 100-ounce beer tube!

Last noticed this 100-ounce special at Cafetasia on Avenue A back in May ...

Now, EV Grieve reader Kurt spots a new happy hour sign... don't recall the beer being served in a tube last time...

  1. 100 oz beer is probably fun for the first 40-50 ounces but then what's left? a lot of warm flat beer and backwash. No thanks. I'll take my beers one at a time and ice cold. Typical idiot bigger-is-better mentality.

  2. @ Anon- "a lot of warm flat beer and backwash"

I'm pretty sure these tubes are more like a serving vessel rather than a big glass .

I don't see the big deal. Three people sharing a hundred ounces of beer comes to 33 ounces each. Just over 2 pints per person. Nothing at all.

  5. One of my favorite Thai spots in Elmhurst has one of these tubes. It has a tap on the bottom so you can fill your glass, backwash free. However, it doesn't stay cold for very long.

100oz equals 8.33 beers. Split that among 3 or 4 people and it's a good value.

  6. it is a tall tube with a skinny tube in the center. The center tube is full of ice - it doesn't water it down since it's inside of the tube, but keeps it cold the entire time. It has a tap at the bottom so that you just pour your own beer when your glass is empty. Been many times - it's a great deal. No backwash unless you decide to share a glass with someone and no warm beer.
