NYPD keeping a watchful eye on Tompkins Square Park

Multiple readers have pointed out a day- (and night-) long NYPD presence outside Tompkins Square Park...



We hear that they're keep an eye out for roving bands of displaced Occupiers... who were ousted from Zuccotti Park early this morning...

    And a continuum from the NYPD's weird hard on for bashing in the heads of Critical Mass cyclists.

    Interesting to note that the much of the worst responses have come from white shirt senior officers rather than regular cops.

    Ok Anon, yea the NYPD is really afraid??? Let me explain something to you people who just think the NYPD is "out to get you" or is a corporate greed machine of mercenaries. the NYPD Keeps peace. They dont wanna bash in anyones head or even arrest anyone. They wanna keep these OWS clowns who are out of control from riots and hurting innocent people. OWS is OUT OF CONTROL. The thugs, criminals and rapists have invaded their cause, and now they have lost control. The main starters of OWS had a good idea, to fight greed and let the fat cats know we dont like what they are doing. But Now, its just a circus, and the NYPD, FDNY, EMS, and sanitation put an end to this health hazard and genuine nuissance in lower manhattan that the RESIDENTS dont want. BRAVO NYPD, and shame on you to all you obnoxious smelly losers who try to make life hard for me by clogging the subway, blocking traffic on the bridge etc. Im part of the 99 percent, and you punks are making me lose money when I cant make my shipments on time. So a big F you to OWS. Leave and go occupy your own damn neighborhood.

    Mr Simmpson, You seem to not mind that it is the banksters are out of control.. MF Global just fired 1000 people because their management looted their customers accounts. Isn't that a deeper level of violence against NYC than some people blocking cars? Cooper Union is going to charge tuition after 100 years because its management gambled in the stock market with endowment money. And reports are the cops and HSA are purposely directing the mentally ill and criminals to the sites. They could do this differently, but they are being inclusive.
