I'm always amused by the completely transparent attempts of bars to be "good neighbors" by posting those "please be respectful and quiet" signs. Its like drug dealers giving out dime bags while pleasantly requesting users not steal to pay for their fix.
Hey anonymous 2:07 - No it's not. It's not like that at all. I think a better analogy would be if drug dealers asked their clientele if they wouldn't mind being quite after they used (but only if they were using right at the spot where they purchased from). Or maybe if the UCB were selling comedy shows and drinks outside of the venue as well and then asked them to...hmmm, this is hard. Let me go back to what I was originally saying, no, it's not like that at all. But at least the sign is "amusing" to you (in a "transparent" way). Sounds like UCB is doing their stated job! Hooray for people who wear shorts with extra pockets like so many famed explorers!!!!
I'm confused - The writer is trying to sleep and they're too noisy, or he's trying to walk down the street and they're in the way - How can you complain about both?
Your remarks and lively debates are welcome, whether supportive or critical of the views herein. Your articulate, well-informed remarks that are relevant to an article are welcome.
However, commentary that is intended to "flame" or attack, that contains violence, racist comments and potential libel will not be published. Facts are helpful.
If you'd like to make personal attacks and libelous claims against people and businesses, then you may do so on your own social media accounts. Also, comments predicting when a new business will close ("I give it six weeks") will not be approved.
UCB = BAD neighbor. BOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
ReplyDeletesee what happens when you start to openly tolerate a proliferation of cargo shorts. nothing good... nothing good.
Instructing drunk people to keep their voices down or be considerate of others--it never works.

It's the swooshing sound of the cargo shorts rubbing together that is the main problem.
