Today marks the four-year anniversary of EV Grieve.
Many thanks for being part of this — reading, commenting, sharing, laughing, crying, making "Is that Lady Gaga?" jokes. Thank you for helping inspire me to keep the site going. Thank you for whatever you do to help keep this neighborhood interesting.
And now, on this occasion, an inside look at how we create a post.
First, we place our process information in the relationship below.
(Conveyor speed of _____ feet per hour) X (Dwell time of _____ hour) = (Heat zone length of _____ feet)
... and, well, you get the idea...

Thank you to Rosie Gray for the nice write-up today at Runnin' Scared. You can read that post here.
Felicitations! Thanks for keeping us informed! Thanks for keeping us feeling like a neighborhood. Thanks for being funny. Etc. etc.!
ReplyDeletehappy anniversary! the east village would be a lonelier place without you.
ReplyDeleteHappy 4 and many many more!
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU and congrats!
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you for providing me with reding material every morning as I drink my coffee before work. Cheers to many more years!
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Grieve! Time flies. What was the very first post?
ReplyDeleteFour more years! Four more years!
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone...
ReplyDelete@LvV
It was a Page Six item about the possible sale of Mona's and Sophie's.
I dont get the hatred for Lady Gaga on this site. NY girl, Tisch school, LES resident, makes it big. How is this different from the Beastie Boys?
ReplyDeleteGranted I love the Beasties and dont have an opinion on Gaga, but I think its cool that she has some roots in the LES. And I always have to respect someone for just being kind of a freak.
I honestly dont know much about her, so I am actually asking, whats the deal here?
Also, Happy Happy Grieve.

ReplyDeleteThanks... and the Lady Gaga thing is just a running gag... I don't believe there's any animosity behind the 'Is That Lady Gaga?' comments... it's just rather... absurd?
Congrats!
ReplyDeleteCongrats Grieve! Thanks for working so hard on this site, and for enhancing the sense of community amongst many who don't know each other offline.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary, EV Grieve! And thank you for all the hard work you put into this blog. It is required reading for me and so many others in the East Village and beyond!--CC

ReplyDeleteThe East Village Blog Mafia Rules!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats again and always.
Happy Anniversary Grieve, I pity other neighborhoods for not having such a dedicated hyper local reporter. Its really a lot of fun, and adds a great sense of community to the area.
ReplyDeleteFour More Years!
Four More Years!
Also should give a nod to all your near flung correspondents, they do a great job also. A hawk cant swing a dead rat in the EV without bumping into a cameraman.
ReplyDeletehappy 4th. you've been doing a bang-up job keeping everyone in check up in the east vill. here's to 4 more. cheers!
ReplyDeleteIs that intro Lady Gaga?!
ReplyDeleteCongrats Grieve! Thank you for all of the time and effort you put into running the site. If I want to know what's going on in the EV I come to your blog first. It's a great resource for those of us in the neighborhood. Here's to year 5!
Congratulations, pal. Here's to many more up-to-the-moment posts about what so many people care so passionately about.
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary! According to Wiki, the "modern" 4-year anniversary gift is an appliance -

So, you're on the money with that pic.
Thanks for bringing our community together and enabling us to stay informed.

ReplyDeleteWe don't hate Lady Gaga, just poking fun at her ridiculous outfits.
Congrats EV Grieve! To another great 4 years!
ReplyDeleteIf I'm going to do 4 more years, I need a catchy slogan!
ReplyDeleteLike — Tippecanoe and Tyler too. Or, Win with Willkie!
Mazel!!!
ReplyDeleteLove your blog. Keep up the great work.
Congrats on 4 years! Over the last 4 years, the East Village has transformed drastically. Let's hope there's still a hood to write about for another 4 years. I do have hope that as long as there are people like you, Grieve, and the frequent commentators here to discuss what's happening, we can keep the hood's soul alive and save it from destruction.
ReplyDelete"Wake Up And Grieve! "
ReplyDeleteI hate Lady Gaga.
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays Grieve and thanks for your excellent writing and wicked sense of humor. Long may you continue and spread good cheer.
I actually don't hate Lady Gaga. I just had to say it.

ReplyDelete@Goggla--spot on...the appliance so cool..I am almost at my third--wonder what that is???
Best little sheet in town. Hands down. I would be lost without EV Grieve. Congratulations on turning four.
ReplyDeleteThis will help you find a slogan, EV Grieve. (Warning: It's a little addictive.)
ReplyDeleteHmm, four more years... 4 years = about 40 pounds.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to launch a Kickstarter campaign to buy new pants!
