An appreciation: Coffee (or espresso!) at DeRobertis

Since April 20, 1904 here on First Avenue just south of 11th Street... I can always do without CNN on in the background... but I'll take it...

Visit the DeRobertis Pasticceria and Caffe website here.

  1. Don't forget to get a bag of lemon biscuits on the way out. That and have a chat with the woman behind the counter about the neighborhood and--in my case,anyway--men. Hard to believe I've been going there for 30 years.

  2. Mmmm!! DeRobertis is the best!! Great pastries. Can't go wrong with coffee and a cannoli (or 2 or 3...)

  4. Best. Lemon. Ice. EVER. I only wish they had it all year round (because you eat ice cream all year, why not ice?) Lovely people, lovely confections, lovely place.

  5. As a EV lifer, my Sicilian mother used to say, Veniero’s is for tourists, DeRobertis is for us.

  6. DeRobertis is one of my favorite places in the whole city, not even just the EV. I love the red, white, and green steps down to the door, the tin ceilings, the mosaic floors ... I've been addicted to the ah-mazing pignoli macaroons forever now but lately I've been on a sfogliatella kick. I probably ate my weight in pastries over the holidays! DeRobertis forever!
