Naked bicycle dude replaces Wódka Vodka hooker ad on the Bowery


That Wódka Vodka ad didn't stick around too long here on the Bowery at Great Jones. We noticed it last week along with BoweryBoogie... This was the ad that got some Bronx community leaders in a snit last month... the vodka's marketing company agreed to remove the offending ad there ...

Dunno if anyone around here complained... but, as of yesterday, a new ad was in place...

    that's worse than the original ad. from a distance, that bottle looks like some sex toy - gulp! and the rider's right hand placement - what was he doing back there?

    Word on the street is that some interest has purchased all the buildings on this corner including the garage and the building housing Great Jones Cafe.

    It is just a matter of time and leases running out before some "luxury" shit show goes in here and then this discussion of billboards will be nonexistent.

    I loved the Wodka ad! Vodka is tasteless peasant hooch. It's high time that a vodka maker stopped trying to make a silk purse out of a potato's ear!

    Have heard those rumblings too.

    An Italian cafe was going to take over the garage's space, but CB2 shot down their plans, which included a retractable garden roof!

    Regardless, it's a doomed corner.
