This is what 240 E. Sixth St. looked like on March 25, 2012


This year, we'll post photos like this of various buildings, streetscenes, etc., to capture them as they looked at this time and place... The photos may not be the most telling now, but they likely will be one day...

  2. Love this address. Parking machine aside, this is what I envision the neighborhood looking like in the 50s-60s. Small businesses catering to people who lived in the neighborhood. We'll check back in some day to find a artisanal ice cube stand here.

  3. Don't jinx this block, please. There used to be a sausage factory where the Ukrainian museum is now. When they tore it down, I used to see rats the size of cats in my backyard on 5th Street. But at least the Ukrainians were local, thus had a sense of perspective and built a structure that nicely fit into the neighborhood. The developers now destroying this wonderful community are cultural vultures.
