The makeshift shelter outside East Village Farms

If you've walked by the former East Village Farms on Avenue A between Seventh Street and Sixth Street early in the morning recently, then you've that seen the space is serving as a makeshift shelter of sorts...



The landlord is still waiting for the city to approve plans to renovate the space and add a rooftop residence.

  1. I saw the chair and table the other day..someone set him/herself up an office of sorts..

  2. HA! I was walking by and saw a firetruck pull up just to check on the guy passed out in the office chair. Table was gone by that point - tues or weds - but there were no other people on the street when ER response showed up.

  3. It has become so disgusting. As soon as you turn the corner onto A it smells terrible. They city really needs to do something it is repulsive.

    right now 6 people hanging out there, really gross, urination etc.
