Given how many times that we've seen her home in various publications, you'd think that we'd have recognized it. The folks at maison21 put it all together, matching up the photos from a 2007 House & Garden spread with pictures from the listing.
From the listing...
... and the House & Garden...
Yep, it's the same place. And it's current asking price is $1.7 million. (And if you're into this kind of thing, Parker Posey also lived in the same building...)
Anyway, Sevigny told this to New York magazine last month.
As for her home, she’s thinking about moving to a high-rise again; she wants more light and is tiring of co-op rules. “I’m looking,” she says. “Maybe I won’t find the right thing and I’ll just stay here. Or maybe I’ll fall in love and get married and move somewhere else entirely. You never know!”
"Tiring of co-op rules." Oh, the poor lamb,
ReplyDeleteGod, I fucking hate her.
James Iha of Smashing Pumpkins also lived in that building.
ReplyDeleteShe moved here when I did, and she became rich and famous. But I don't hate her for it. She is a weirdo like so many of us (and I mean that in a good way) but a weirdo with money. She earned it, and good for her because she is a woman who doesn't fit the standard bill in terms of what Hollywood is looking for.
ReplyDeleteWhy even bother. The company she works for Opening Ceremony uses fur. I can't respect that.
ReplyDeleteAnon 9:00, she always had money. Just recently she said in an interview, "I'm from a sailing family." (blerg)
ReplyDeleteShe's also recently said (after being informed by GLAAD that "tranny" was pejorative) "That's ridonkulous. You can't say anything anymore."
She's a fantastic actress but I don't know. Palling around with noted pervert Terry Richardson, writing the intro to noted racist Lesley Arfin's memoir ... saying she wanted to be on the community board and then doing nothing about it. It's all disappointing.
She can suck the EV, and me, they way she did to Vincent Gallo in Brown Bunny.
ReplyDeleteI used to see James Iha around a lot with different arm candies back then. He was just one of the EV guys, no paparazzi or gawkers following him around, unlike today when one see a Kardashian, or a Badgley, or a Jonas brother, the cell phones start coming out to take pics and then followed by the giggling and gaggling of EV valley girls. Yah.
Good riddance, you tool. "More light" - your space is drenched in it. Go live on the surface of the sun if you want 'more light".
ReplyDeleteIn my very humble opinion E. 10th between 2nd and 3rd Ave is one of the most beautiful, tranquil, unretouched blocks in all of NYC.
ReplyDeleteIt almost exists out of time. Compared to the commercial chaos of its borders (2nd and 3rd Ave), E. 10th just sits there as if the world has revolved around it, and it cares not.
Those who live there are lucky and I envy them.
@anon 9:00 am
ReplyDelete"a weirdo like so many of us" and I guess you are one of the weirdos, you say "us". Do you mean weirdo as eccentric and interesting? You calling yourself eccentric and interesting makes me think that you are just another boring clueless narcissist.
Anonymous 11:27 a.m. All of us gays who moved into the EV in the 80s were considered weirdos. We still are by the straight and narrow newbies who are storming into the hood now. Do you live in the neighborhood? You should try to talk to your neighbors. No need to insult them. Anger won't get you anywhere. Peace, and I mean it!
ReplyDeleteWow, people are haters. I'd totally live in that apartment, but I'd get rid of wallpaper. Oh, and who has a washer/dryer, but no dishwasher?
ReplyDelete@anon 12:45
ReplyDeleteAre you the same as anon 9:00 am? I have lived here my whole life and what makes you think I am angry? I am just wondering what your definition of weirdo means because you include yourself in it, also there is a positive connotation as in "I mean that in a good way". I'm just wondering if you are using the word weirdo to mean eccentric and interesting, you see because you are calling yourself a weirdo? And any of the newbies who are gay and "storming into the hood" are just as obnoxious as the "straight and narrow". You are using straight and narrow as a pejorative as well, so whose kidding who?
@ Kimberly and Shawn Chittle
ReplyDeleteNobody is saying they wouldn't live there and nobody is saying that it isn't a nice block?
Chloe is the furthest thing from a weirdo. This place is featured in House and Garden Magazine, a place rich folks go for decorating tips. The way the word weirdo is being used is to imply that she or others are radical, including gay men who moved here in the 80s. Being gay or a non-Hollywood type doesn't make you a radical. Standing for something makes you a radical. The men of ACT-UP were weirdos, not the gay men who stood by and watched in silence as the AIDS epidemic cleansed NYC, including the EV of an entire generation. Chloe stands for nothing and the evidence of that is she uses fur in her clothing line. What kinda weirdo thinks it's okay to slaughter beautiful wild animals for the sake of fashion? Even some of the most conservative non-weirdos one can name, won't wear or use fur.
ReplyDeletei'm a weirdo and i would kill to live on that block. especially in the house on the triangle with the bay window.
ReplyDeletei also like Chloe.
I like Chloe as an actor(actress - can we still say actress?) -- but I wouldn't expect much more of her than that.
ReplyDeletePlenty of talented actors are disappointing human beings in every other regard. Meh. Who cares?
I love that block, I would kill for those floors and that wallpaper would make me dizzy before I finished my evening cocktail.
I heard James Iha moved out of the building because he & his gf had a baby
ReplyDeleteJ.M. 10:22: Yes, that spot on the triangular corner must be amazing. I don't think I would ever leave that block for a high-rese.
ReplyDeleteIt seems that the Corcoran listing is no longer up. Did Chloe already change her mind?
ReplyDelete@Tracy on 12th
ReplyDeleteInteresting!
I wouldn't be surprised if they already found a buyer for this apartment. This kind of apartment is hard to find in the neighborhood. There is only so much stock. Or she got tired of everyone ripping her and made it a closed listing for privacy's sake...
