Michael has been sleeping in front of a renovated storefront on East Sixth Street. Next to the incoming Schwimmer Manor, actually.
This note appeared this week. As you can see, he had to go to Rikers, either as a visitor or guest. Not sure which.
His blankets are also stored here.
Are ya sure this is not performance art??if not..Rikers is not aplace one wants to visit nor be in...and ones life is Not A Joke...I think maybe that is what it means??don't really know, just guessing.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if the message is for real or not. But I do know people have been sleeping here on the sidewalk of late.
ReplyDeleteThe 6th Street crash zone runs from 2nd to Ave A. The shit I see walking to work brings me back to 1988 living on S 2nd Street in Williamsburg down the street from No Mercy.
ReplyDeleteMichael is just a psuedonym of Marc Jacobs, Another marketing scheme by Marc Jacobs for his line of "Blankets by Marc Jacobs" by Marc Jacobs from Marc Jacobs
ReplyDeleteDegentrification or just good old fashioned urban blight?
ReplyDeleteIf this is real, it makes me sad. Michael has no place to store his blankets while he's away and, apparently, no one to look after his things.
ReplyDeleteNow there is a graffiti Marc Jacobs tee shirt selling for $666.00
