Avenue B is for Bistro Avenue?

There's a new listing for a three-bedroom rental at 212 Avenue B at 13th Street (above the B Cup Cafe) ... blah, blah, the usual... and usual price ($3,500).

One line jumped out at me in the listing:

Located In The Heart Of The East Village In A Condominium Building With Brand New Gut Renovated Granite Hallways On Bistro Avenue

Bistro Avenue? Anyone ever hear this one before...? Anyone ever want to hear it again? Brokers for the building used the "Bistro" line back in April 2010. So it doesn't seem to have caught on...

  1. Ahhh.... Bistro Avenue, or soon to be BisAv -- "Hey, lyk, I met this bro, that just bought a cuteee condo in BisAv, with lyk a pool in the rooftop and he totally invited me lyk to a rooftop pool party lyk this weekend with his brahs. Lyk, oh maaah gahhhd, I just totally came..."

Anyhoo, Avenue A is for A$$hole Av. (that's an extra dollar sign, not for savings but for $pending), and Avenue C is for Coño Av.

  2. I remember using that line myself, several years back, when I was describing my neighborhood to outsiders -- "I never used to walk East out of my front door, but now Avenue B, well, it's like B is for Bistro. It's totally changed."

Never saw it in print, however, or in a real estate listing -- gross.

The mobs who flock to places like Poco every weekend. I don't get it personally.
