David Schwimmer to have his very own Central Perk on East Sixth Street

A tipster points us to 335 E. Sixth St., where work continues on the renovated storefronts (two combined into one) ... per the tipster, a cafe-coffee shop with a small food menu is in the works... not many other details are available right yet... (and there are a few resident complaints with the DOB about an "illegal/improper" vent/exhaust in the back...)

...and it's just steps from David Schwimmer's incoming mansion on the block between First Avenue and Second Avenue... No word if the new coffee shop will include an orange couch.

Oh great, I can see it all now. David Schwimmer has a big night but no one else is ready to leave the awesome new cafe-coffee shop at 335 E. Sixth Street. Matthew Perry and Matt LeBlanc fight about clothes and wonder where Courteney Cox is then Matt LeBlanc spills a small menu item on Lisa Kudrow's dress. Meanwhile Jennifer Aniston can't decide what to wear so David Schwimmer gets mad and decides not to go...God they're annoying. I don't care how good the coffe is, I'm never going to that cafe-coffee shop in-the-works again!

  2. Well, I'm always keen on good coffee. And, with DD and Starbucks not far away, I'm happy to see another independent place opening up.

  3. @Goggla agreed! Very psyched to have a new coffee shop. All for it.

  4. Goggla and Anon - you have got to be kidding right? Residents are already complaining about an illegal vent and as someone who has experienced this it is awful, secondly they will undoubtedly be before the CB 3 SLA committee for a liquor license in a few months and finally how about a business that doesn't serve food or drink, we have plenty of coffee shops selling shot glassed sized cups of coffee for 3 bucks. Enough of this nonsense already, how about shoe repair store. They are all closed and some people still need their shoes repaired.
