  2. One might have expected a bit of dignity in the presence of this monument in light, but there is instead an inordinate excess of woo on the Bowery tonight. (That is, inordinate even for the Bowery).

  3. Not surprised; woo and jingoism are kind cut from the same cloth...These days I don't think there is more jingoistic holiday than 9/11. I think it even beats out Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Veteran's Day, combined.

  4. Giuliani, Bloomberg & Kelly have dine everything they can to exploit 9/11 into a money-making f*cking tourist attraction.
    9/11 was an inside job!

I'm with you Glamma. Watching the Zapruder tape, it's clear Kennedy was hit by bullets from both the back and the front. One man did not kill the President. In 30 years we're going to look back at 9/11 with the realization a handful of terrorists did not bring down the towers, including WTC 7 which wasn't even hit, the Pentagon, or make a plane evaporate in a field.

I was in the Trade Center taking a seminar the weekend before the attack. I was there all day Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and was to be back Tuesday night after work. Part of the seminar involved inviting friends to join us on Sunday night.

When our friends got to the Trade Center, there was a HUGE police presence with major guns, dogs, flashing lights, etc. going through the lobbies, checking ID, and being sure our guests were going exactly where they said they were going. The rest of the weekend the building's security was like any other - show a doorman your ID and get a sticker badge that granted access.

In my opinion I think they knew something was coming.
