'Winter's Tale' filming today around Cooper Square; Russell Crowe alert

So this is filming today...

'Winter's Tale' ... described by IMDB as: "A fantasy story set in 19th Century and present-day Manhattan and revolves around a thief, a dying girl, and a flying white horse" by Academy Award-winning writer Akiva Goldsman...

There's a big cast that includes Russell Crowe, Will Smith, William Hurt, Jennifer Connelly, Colin Farrell, Eva Marie Saint and "Downton Abbey"'s Jessica Brown Findlay.... Not sure who will be filming around Cooper Union today...

Filming has also taken place in Sandy-ravaged Red Hook, where some residents have grumbled about the shoot delaying the clean-up process, per Page Six.

  1. Thanks for the warning. I will head east for any of today's endeavors. The incessant film shoots in the neighborhood are getting kind of irritating.

  2. Thank God! Finally, a fantasy story set in 19th Century and present-day Manhattan revolving around a thief, a dying girl, and a flying white horse!

  3. based on mark helprin's book, which sends people into paroxysms of drooly adjectives. i've avoided reading it because of the author's neoconservative politics. but i may have to now, because, y'know, COLIN FIRTH HUBBA HUBBA. damn it.

  4. Is there any way this movie could not suck? I would suggest not supporting this movie, but I can't imagine anyone wanting to see it.

  5. @Marjorie:
The film stars Colin Farrell, not Colin Firth.

  6. Note the error: the 1900s (as the flyer states) is the 20th century, not the 19th. Most of the film takes place in 1916.
