Noted

Spotted on East Second Street between Avenue B and Avenue C...

Can't quite make out the chalk in this photo... reads "Clean this up."

  1. "Fuck the Projects", is that right? Well, in answer to your early question, yes the neighborhood is well and truly dead. White middle-class kids called the battle, white middle-class kids won. "Fuck the Projects" means, basically, "Fuck the Poor", right?

Congratulations and good luck, I'm outta here.

  2. It may also mean "fuck the people who put their junk in front of the empty lot, fuck the garbage dumpers, fuck the giant dog poopers. " but then why limit it to the projects?

  3. "Fukc the projects" is a kind of Rorschach test.

I would read it as a type of signal of empowerment written by someone that lives in the Projects.

  5. There is a long tradition of people leaving usable items in the street or on their stoop for those who may be in need of the item(s). You may see books, clothes and yes even cookware or pantry items.
I suspect this chalker is the same frat douche who posted anti-grafitti flyers on that brick wall in the EV not too long ago.
Maybe these whoo'ers should check out the area before moving here and complaining about things that were already here.
