Photos of yesterday's East Village Bodega Walk

Yesterday, , as part of the ongoing No 7-Eleven movement, a handful of residents gathered on Avenue A and East 11th Street for a walking tour of nearby delis.

A chain-wearing Bob Holman, founder of the Bowery Poetry Club, led the walk... Shawn Chittle was along to take these photos.

  2. Thank you to everyone who showed up for the Bodega Walk. The walking - and the chanting! - was a lot of fun! We started off with about 20 people and had 40+ by the end. A lot of businesses and locals had no idea 100 more 7-Elevens are planned for Manhattan by 2017! Details on the next walk coming soon!

  3. Can someone publish the chants? I was in hysterics the entire time. Bob Holman is a genius. "No trite chants!"

P.S. The black-and white is terrific.
